Location Search: Pamperin Park

We have found our spot!!

The spot of our ceremony and reception, it's beyond perfect and of course I can't take credit for it! Romy randomly found it while he was doing research after Christmas, but he with held the information because we were so stuck on Smith Park.

Drum-roll please....

We have picked Pamperin Park in Green Bay, Wisconsin!

I fell in love with the beautiful river rocks, the cathedral ceiling, and amazing floor to ceiling fireplace! Check out  my pictures below and maybe you will fall in love with it too!!

P.S. we were able to sneak in side since there was a wedding going on later that day!

Enjoy!

Date to be Married!!

Welcome Back Everyone!

So I guess the big question now from everyone is, "When is the Big Day?" "Do you have a date picked out yet?" Ok, for everyone to know, we don't have a date yet...but Romy and I were discussing possible months for this wedding, and since we are thinking 2014 Romy through out September! September is a great month, weather is nice, everyone is not super busy like the summer months, and the scenery is still pretty!
But the other day I was reading my favorite blog Stilettos and Diaper Bags, and Lisa and her husband were celebrating their 5 years marriage anniversary, but they were actually together 8 years because they got married on their dating anniversary!

I LOVED this idea and instantly told Romy we needed to scrap all of our planning thus far for a September wedding and start looking at November 1st 2014.

And luck be have it, November 1st is a Saturday! Romy and I refuse to have a Friday wedding for the sake of our family and friends who will have to travel to get to our wedding (our wedding will be in the Fox Valley since the majority of our family is there), but Friday weddings is a topic for another day!

Check back tomorrow for our perfect locations of our November 1st, 2014 wedding!!

Location Search: Smith Park

Ever since, I don't know when, I have loved one park in the Fox Valley; Smith Park in Menasha Wisconsin!

I just think its perfect, in-closed shelter for me and the ladies to get ready, gazebo to get married, and right off the water to take pictures!

See below and see for your self!

Our only issue is that we can't book until one year before the date we would like to reserve the park for, and since we are thinking 2014 that wouldn't  mean it's a for sure thing. Which if you know me, I like to have things scheduled and put in place!

I guess we will have to keep looking!!

Check back tomorrow to see what we are thinking for dates!!

The Ring!

Hello Friends!

I hope you all enjoyed the proposal story as much as we enjoyed living it. So my mouth had hit the ground when I finally saw the ring, the ring that I actually didn't design at all, it was all Romy! I guess (even though the proposal was amazing and well planned) he had been planning the ring for about SIX months!

As I had said before, he had worked with the AMAZING A Trio Jewelry in Milwaukee's third ward to custom design the ring. Romy worked with Amy Shallow (owner) who took his vision and made it a reality!

I guess watching Sex and the City for all the years actually paid off! Romy's inspiration for my ring was Carrie Bradshaw's black diamond stunner (if I do say so myself).

Of course not copying her ring, Romy was able to construct my ring from start to end with Amy's help! Instead of a black diamond Romy choose a perfect round cut emerald (which he knew was my favorite gem stone), white gold, with white diamond's on the band!

The process after making the blue prints of the ring included making a mold of the ring. The first thing to come in was actually the stone, so they set the stone in the mold to ensure Romy was positive he LOVE how it was going to turn out. After that step was finished they (Amy's husband Noah) actually created the band and setting for the stones.

Romy said that after he received the finish product it was the hardest secret he ever had to keep from me!

I know I already posted a picture of the ring, but check of the professional pictures Amy has on their website!

Romy's number one request in this whole designing process was that you can see the silhouette of the stone (each side of the stone looks like the above). The wedding band and Romy's ring will be designed by Amy and I can't wait to work with her on the process!

I can say that he did more then an AMAZING job on this ring! And I LOVE that I can say that he designed
the whole thing from start to finish! He truly is my one and only and I can't WAIT to be his wife!

Proposal: Part 4 (final)

Ok! So I have kept you waiting for the end of this long story!

After the sun had set on Washington Island  (about 4:30) and there wasn't much to do on the island we headed back into "town." This was basically a strip of of restaurants and shops...except in the winter months, only one of them was open... K K Fiske restaurant.

It was great! Of course being such a small place they only offered one thing a night...and Thursday night was Pizza night!

We enjoyed a couple of beers and this veggie pizza and ended up going back to the hotel pretty early. Of course at the point we were both full and lazy, so we decided to grab a bottle of wine, blankets, and build a fire down by the water. It took some work, but Romy was able to man up a fire!

As we were sitting, cuddled up by the fire, we were talking about how perfect the day was. I was asking Romy why we had went on this adventure, and he stated that he just wanted to spend time together before the holiday began (which are very busy for us).

And then he said... "I have just one more surprise for you..." and then pulled out a small little black box...and I opened it to find...

Custom made earnings...

Of course I just though they were so gorgeous! Black diamonds surrounded by white diamonds...amazing... it really a took a few seconds for the whole thing to set in and then it happened. Romy said the look on my face when the box opened was a mix of sadness, disappointment, and homicidal range. I cried and yelled and was so upset that I had to go back to work and all the people who were watching my Instrigram feed all day. I left the fire and went straight to bed. I figured that was the best way for me to not say something I would regret later.

I was later (12:30am) awoke to Romy rushing around the the room, making hot chocolate, getting hand warmers, blankets and more things together. He informed me that I needed to get out of bed, get dresses nice and warm and come back outside with him. Needless to say it took him about a half an hour to get me to get out of bed and get dressed. We walked back into the cold and back by the fire pit. But, this time it wasn't lit and we sat back on the bench in the cold dark night. Romy and I cuddled up together and he had me look up into the clear sky and I saw a shooting star, and then I saw another.

Before I knew it the shooting stars didn't stop. Romy looked at me and said that we had to come to Washington Island tonight 12/13/12 because it was the Geminids Meteor Shower of 2012    and Washington Island was the most clear location in the United States aside from Alaska to view it. Before I knew it Romy was fidgeting and shaking and rolling off the bench to one knee. He barely got out the words out, "Will you be my wife?" and I couldn't believe what was happening. The day was full of so many up and down's and it took me a while before I said anything, I just couldn't believe it was happening. He then said, "you still haven't answered me yet..." Finally I got the words out, "YES! Of Course!" We kissed and ran back to the room because I couldn't see the ring in the pitch black. My mouth hit the floor when i finally saw the ring for the first time, it was everything I had ever wanted and Romy custom designed it at A Trio Jewelers

Proposal: Part 3

We ended up making the second to last ferry of the day to Washington Island, and since we were heading up there in the "dead zone" there wasn't much going on, on the island. Romy actually had a hard time finding a hotel that was open over the winter months (luckily he found the perfect one).

It was a small hotel on the northeast coast of the island right on the water. Since we made the second to last ferry we were able to get to the hotel right as the sun was setting...it was breath taking!

View from our balcony

We headed to the water to get a better view ( I thought this was just so romantic!)

It was the perfect timing for a proposal...which did not happen to this girl..

Check back tomorrow to hear the end of our proposal!

Proposal: Part 2

We started bright and early on our adventure to who knew where! (And of course instrigramed them) I documented the whole thing via I came out to the car to all my favorite magazines waiting for me.

Of course we had to stop for coffee and tea, and Alterra was going to hit the spot.

I had no idea where we were headed! we were going somewhere north, and of course I knew once we hit Darboy USA that was where we were going to drop Gus off, but yet, had no clue where we were going!

It wasn't until we hit Green Bay that Romy let me start guessing to where we were headed. Since we had never been to Washington Island off of Door County, that was my first guess...and Romy was dumbfounded that I was actually correct!

To Washington Island we went via ferry...

Check back tomorrow to hear how our night went on Washington Island!

Proposal: Part 1

Well I guess I should start out with the proposal story...

We will start with the short story, because as Romy will tell you it takes a while..

It all started on Wednesday December 12th, (12/12/12) with this text below

Basically it was an hour long text message discussion regarding Romy trying to get me to take off the next two days, which everyone that knows me knows I don't just take off of work. I love my job and respect my boss dearly. With Romy being very persistent I finally got the balls to just mention something to my boss about my idiot boyfriends rant for the day.

Surprisingly...she new exactly what I was talking about. Apparently Romy had contacted her over a month ago, regarding me have those 2 days off. He didn't say why I needed the days off, just that he did. Of course my boss was skeptical (she didn't want to send me into the arms of a crazy man), but she did. Shortly after my boss and I had our conversation flowers were deliver to the office and I knew right away that something was up!

Coming home to Romy that night was interesting to say the least, of course me being me, I wanted all the details. But, one great piece of advance I got from my boss was,  "to just sit back, relax and enjoy the ride! Times like these only come around a limited time in life." So I did, I packed an over night back to took a seat for the ride of my life!

Stop back tomorrow to hear the rest!

Back story before the proposal

Before I get to the nitty gritty proposal story there is a bit of a back story to our proposal.

The first week of December I was hosting a holiday party for some of my co-workers at our house. So of course I was going nuts making sure our house was in tip-top shape too show it off to everyone. In the process of cleaning, I decided to organize our office. I was shredding a bunch of paperwork because we had just switched bank accounts so I was going through our old check books to make sure there wasn't anything important to save.

Of course I found something...I found  a receipt for an $800 "custom engagement ring." Instead of putting the receipt back where I found, I confronted Romy and ask him what it was for. Of course he played it off that it was actually my Christmas present (custom earnings) and it was from a small jeweler that had cooed custom jewelry as "custom engagement ring." Of course working in retail and being gullible I believed him!

That was until I received a text 12/12/12 that changed my life.

Come back tomorrow for the proposal story! (Its a good one!)
